Boyd Hanes

Tobaccoville- Boyd Hanes, 87, passed away June 27, 2016. He was born April 25, 1929 in Surry County to the late Ples Hanes and Cecil Harris Hanes. Mr. Hanes was a member of Northwood Baptist Church where he served as Head Usher. He is preceded in death by his parents, a son Billy Hanes, a brother Harold Hanes. Surviving are his wife Sandy Holt Hanes; children Carol (Wayne) Farmer, Libby Lowe, Randy Hanes, Gregory Hanes; six grandchildren; a sister Alma Heiss; a brother Ralph (Wanda) Hanes. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm Friday July 1, 2016 at Northwood Baptist Church in Yadkinville. His funeral will be conducted at 2:00 PM following the visitation at Northwood Baptist Church by Dr. Allen Barker and Dr. Hubert Wishon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thanks to their church family, Pastor Allen Barker, Preacher Hubert Wishon, and the staff of the Hospice and Palliative Care of Walnut Cove for the loving care given to Mr. Hanes.
