Donna Christine Thompson

Thompson Mt. Airy- Mrs. Donna Christine Thompson, 61, of Red Brush Road passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016. She was born March 27, 1955 in Newport News, Va. to OB Hodges and Annabell Beasley Hodges. Mrs. Thompson worked for several years as a respiratory therapist with Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin. She was a faithful member of Salem Fork Baptist Church in Dobson, loved to travel, and was a loving, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her father, OB Hodges. Surviving are her beloved husband of 43 years, Billy Thompson, of the home; her son, Brian Thompson, and wife, Sandy of Dobson; 3 grandchildren, Stacy Truban and husband, David; Beth Thompson, Savana Thompson; great-grandchild, Myla Truban; her mother, Annabell B. Hodges, Mt. Airy; a sister, Jean Collins, Dobson; and a brother, Aldon Hodges, Mt. Airy. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM Friday at Salem Fork Baptist Church, 555 Twin Oaks Road, Elkin, NC. Her funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM Friday in the church with Rev. Sean Joplin, and Mrs. Thompsons' son, Brian Thompson, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff of Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson for the loving care given to Mrs. Thompson.
