Junis Edward Allen

Allen Boonville- Mr. Junis Edward Allen, 86, of Center Road passed away Tuesday, July 05, 2016 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. He was born June 6, 1930 to the late William Edward and Ima Christine Baity Allen. Mr. Allen was retired with over 45 years of service from Hanes Hoisery/ Sara Lee Corporation. He enjoyed working outside, farming, hunting, fishing, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a faithful and active member of Mitchells Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his beloved wife Maxine Bryant Allen on December 8, 2011; and by his brothers, J.W. Allen, Irvin Allen, and Aldean Allen. Surviving are his loving children, Pamela (Fred) Shoemaker, Pfafftown; Edward (Sherry) Allen, Boonville; Grandchildren, Heather (Chad) Collins, Joshua Shoemaker, Dusty (Kelly) Allen, Kala (Greg) Longworth; great-grandchildren, Scarelett Shoemaker, Brooke Allen, Alicia Joyner, Nick Allen, Jackson Shoemaker, Wesley Longworth; his sister, Jessie Ruth Boger, Mocksville; and sisters-in-law, Bonnie Allen, Emma Sue Allen, Norma Jean Bryant. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Thursday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will follow the visitation 2:00 PM Thursday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. J.P. Sizemore. Burial will follow in the Mitchells Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
