Frieda Thompson Hall, 94, passed peacefully on July 4, 2016. She was born April 22, 1922 in Superior, WI to John and Leota Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 53 years Oscar Hall, four brothers, Henry, Wilmer, Ronald, John Jr Thompson; two sisters Retha Everidge, and Jackie Newsome. Surviving are her four children Annette Cheek, Winston-Salem, NC, Colleen Hayworth, Millers Creek, NC, Steven (Jeanne) Hall, Stoneville, NC, and John (Melissa) Hall of Boonville; seven grandchildren Gina Brooks Gregory, Joey Williams, Scott Williams, Carla Hall (Curt) Alphonso, Steve "Bo" Hall, Johnette Hall (Rich) Boulter, and Suzanne Hall; seven great- grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; one sister Marie Long; and her special long term companion Buddy Eaton. Frieda was a member of Flat rock Baptist Church for 70 years and was very active. She retired from a long career at Hanes Hosiery. She was a very talented and spent her life creating beauty, from cakes to quilts. She loved life, she especially loved our beautiful earth and travelled extensively. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Pm Friday July 8, 2016 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday July 9, 2016 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by Dr. Joey Tomlin and Rev. Albert Everidge. Burial will follow at Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery. The family wants to say a very special thanks to Kelly Hairston for the love and care she extended to Mrs. Hall during the 3 years as her caregiver.
