Locksley "Doc" Renegar

Renegar Yadkinville - Locksley "Doc" Hall Renegar, 81, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Hugh Chatham Hospital. He was born February 23, 1935 in Yadkin County to the late George and Ruby Renegar. Doc served as a Deacon, Usher, and on the cemetery committee at Bethel Baptist Church. He retired from the Lone Hickory Fire Department, where he served as a Fire Chief for several years. He also owned and operated "Doc's" store with his wife for over 55 years. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Hanes; brothers, Roy Renegar, Lonnie Renegar, Frank Renegar, George Renegar, and Joe Renegar. Surviving are his wife, Blanche Ledbetter Renegar; son, Chris (Dana) Renegar; grandchildren, Bryan (Lauren) Renegar, Lea (Dustin) Renegar; great grandchildren, Garrett Renegar and a future great grandbaby due in January; sister, Lacey Hutchens; brother, Flay Renegar; several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2016 at South Oak Ridge Baptist Church by Dr. Phil Beavers, the Rev. Chris Hauser, the Rev, Jesse Miles, and the Rev. Ted Shatley. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. He will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
