Ronald Gray Evans

Mocksville Mr. Ronald Gray Evans, 66, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016 at his home. Mr. Evans was born January 9, 1950 in Yadkin County to Cecil and Lois Caudle Evans. He was a faithful, active member of Faith Community Baptist Church, which he dearly loved. Mr. Evans enjoyed visiting with people, watching owls and hummingbirds, traveling, working in his flowers, helping others, family history, and serving his Lord. In addition to his father, Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia Wall Evans. He is survived by his mother; his loving wife of 7 years, Donna Hutchins Evans; two children, Donald (Nicole) Evans and James "Scoobie" Evans; two step children, Michael (Laura) Fissel and Bryan Fissel; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Carol and Jim Hutchins; and three brothers, Richard Evans, Larry Evans, and Bobby (Pam) Atkins. A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, July 31, 2016 at 3:00PM at Faith Community Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Poindexter and Brother Brandon Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Grapevine Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Community Baptist Church, 2216 Hennings Rd, East Bend, NC 27018.
