Pardue Yadkinville - Beloved family member, teacher and coach, David Eugene Pardue, Jr.,77, of Yadkinville, will be laid to rest on Saturday August 6, 2016. David was born in Yadkinville, NC on July 13, 1939. He was the son of David Eugene Pardue and Josephine Williams Pardue . He was proceeded in death by both of his parents, as well as his sister, Betty Jo Pinnix and a brother, Gary Dixon. He was a life long resident of Yadkinville and was a graduate of the Class of 1957 of Yadkinville High School. David served in the Hospital Corp of the US Navy for many years. He then went on to earn a BA from Western Carolina University and a M.Ed from Appalachian State University in Middle Grades Education. David retired from the Yadkin County School System, where he taught science, social studies and P.E for over 30 years. He will be fondly remembered by the many collegues and students that attended both Yadkinville Elementary and Forbush High School for his sense of humor and quick wit. David was a winning coach and enjoyed coaching girls basketball, boys baseball and boys softball. He could often be found watching and cheering for athletes at Forbush High School and for his nephew's athletic teams, Keith Pinnix, who is also a coach. David was always a delight to be around and had many cousins with which he enjoyed eating out and spending time. He will be especially missed by his nieces and nephews who always enjoyed his lively company and constant support. David leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly. His nieces and nephews include: John Keith Pinnix, (Laura) of Cherokee, NC, Donna Pardue Ashley (Charles) of Yadkinville, NC, Milton Pinnix of Yadkinville, Claude Pinnix of Winston-Salem,and Susan Pinnix Greene of Miller's Creek. His great nieces and nephews include: Michelle Ashley Vincent (Chris) of Charlotte, NC, Christy Ashley of Yadkinville, Cody Greene of Millers Creek, Matthew Greene (Lucia) of Newport News, Va., Danielle Dixon Usher (Chris) of Yadkinville, Rachel Pinnix of Yadkinville, Lauren Luther and Kalista Luther of Cherokee. He also had many great nieces and nephews who enjoyed their Uncle David's entertaining and accommodating personality. He will be missed by them: Brady, Caroline, Aaron, Destiny, Aubrielle, Kaiden, Patrick and Chance. A service to celebrate the life of David Eugene Pardue, Jr. will be held on Saturday, August 6, at 3:00 pm at Gentry Funeral Home. Family will receive visitors prior to the service at 2:00 pm. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Pardue family.
