Albert Everett Sutphin

Yadkinville Albert Everett Sutphin, 87, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Mr. Sutphin was born June 21, 1929 in Yadkin County to the late Everett and Luna Cranfill Sutphin. He was a veteran of the US Coast Guard, having served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Sutphin retired from the Winston Salem Fire Dept. after 32 years of service. He was a member of Courtney Baptist Church. Mr. Sutphin is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Louella Ponder Sutphin; two children, Cindy (Tim) Boyce and Mark (Mary) Sutphin; two step children, Mike and Larry Eads; one grandson, Scottie (Misty) Hill; two great grandchildren, James Scott and Logan Hill; and one sister, Carolyn Boger. A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, August 7, 2016 at 3:00PM at Courtney Baptist Church with Dr. Richard H. Capps and Dr. Jimmy Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Yadkin Christian Ministries, PO Box 204 Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Yadkin Nursing Center for the loving care provided to Mr. Sutphin.
