Edna Shauger Ronda - Edna Anna "Louisa" (Hinrichs) Shauger, 98, of Milwaukee, WI passed away with family by her side at her daughter Sharon (Shauger) Sanders home in Ronda, NC on August 18, 2016. She was born June 15, 1918 in Milwaukee to the late John and Amanda (Stoecker) Hinrichs and was predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, Guy Arthur Shauger. She was confirmed and married at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church of Milwaukee, WI until she and her husband Art became members at Garfield Avenue Baptist church in Milwaukee, WI. She remained a faithful and active member until her move to Canton, GA in which she taught Sunday school at First Baptist Church. While attending First Baptist in Canton, Edna and Art held Bible School for many summers in their backyard. After Art's death, she moved to NC, and attended Jonesville First Baptist Church. Loving the Lord and serving Him was important to Edna and for sixty-six years, she was involved with Gideons International Auxiliary in Milwaukee, WI, and Canton, GA. For several years, she was also a member of the Ronda Ladybug Red Hats of Ronda, NC. Family was important to Edna. She was extremely proud and loving towards her four children, Ann (Shauger) Vaughan and her husband Walter of Grafton, WI, Sharon (Shauger) Sanders and her husband Jerry of Ronda, NC, John Shauger and his wife Kathy of GA, and Diana Shauger of Milwaukee, WI. Edna is survived by her two sisters, Lorraine (Hinrichs) Figge, of AZ and Alida (Hinrichs) Siggelkow of Glendale, WI; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends. She was predeceased by siblings Leona (Hinrichs) Stalker, Stella (Hinrichs) Ratzow, and Arno Hinrichs. Sewing, gardening, reading the bible and crocheting were some of her favorite hobbies. Edna was also an avid reader and enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. Christmas was a time to sample her delicious Plum Pudding and cookies, while wrapped up in one of her handmade Afghans. Laughter and joy always filled her home. She had the unique ability to make everyone feel special and cared for. Whether they were eight or eighty, Edna took the time to listen and speak with them in her gentle manner. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers make donations to Hospice of Elkin, Gideons International, or Jonesville First Baptist Church. Our family extends many thanks and appreciation to the Hospice of Elkin for the loving care they gave to her. Visitation will be held at Jonesville First Baptist Church, Jonesville, NC on Saturday, August 20 from 2:30pm - 4:00pm. The funeral will immediately follow at 4:00pm by the Rev. Roger Hensley and the Rev. Amy Vaughan. Burial will be held later at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Milwaukee, WI. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville is serving the Shauger Family.
