Betty Jean Deskins

Yadkinville Mrs. Betty Jean Davis Deskins, 74, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Deskins was born June 21, 1942 in Tazwell, VA to Melvin Crockett and Sallie Mae Sawyer Davis. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Deskins was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffrey Deskins; one sister, Mary Jane McDonald; and one brother, John Henry Davis. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Charles Edward Deskins; eight children, Deborah (Michael) Grigsby, Tony (Barbara) Woodall, Zane Woodall, Jimmy (Peggy) Deskins, James "Eddie" (Delores) Deskins, Carolyn (Donnie) Reavis, Gail Click, and Willie (Patty) Deskins; ten grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted Friday, September 2, 2016 at 2:00PM Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Darrell Wykes officiating. Burial will follow at Yadkinville Cemetery.
