Junior Minton

Jonesville Mr. Junior Minton, 78, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Minton was born August 5, 1938 in Wilkes County to Benjamin and Ila Porter Minton. He enjoyed coon hunting and watching Nascar. In addition to his parents, Mr. Minton was preceded in death by five brothers, Willie, Ed, Clyde, Wayne and Bill Minton; three sisters, Nell, Ruby, and Ruth; a son-in-law, Danny Spencer; and one grandchild, Shane Minton. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Alma Jean Holcomb Minton; three children, Tammy (David) Nance, Rita (Kenny) Swaim, and Marty (Torria) Minton; five grandchildren, Stephanie Norman, Chris Spencer, Shannon Jackson, BJ Holbrook and Brittany Hall; two step grandchildren, Jason Swaim and Justin Hamby; 10 great grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Jimmy Holcomb and Bonson (Marie) Holcomb; and three sisters-in-law, Faye, Juanita, and Georgie Minton. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 2:00pm at Beulahland Non-Denominational Church with Pastor Ralph Casstevens and Rev. Don Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Gentry Funeral Service in Jonesville.
