Odessa Vestal

Jonesville Mrs. Odessa Quisenberry Vestal, 91, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Vestal was born May 24, 1925 in Surry County to Otis and Lulu White Quisenberry. She was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 45 years. Mrs. Vestal Enjoyed working in her flowers, making baskets, was a wonderful seamstress, and was a fabulous cook. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vestal was preceded in death by her husband, James "Junior" Vestal; a son, Ivey Gray Vestal; two sisters, Frances Gravley and Thelma Burguess; and two brothers, Ivey O'Neal Quisenberry and Burnett Quisenberry. She is survived by a grandson, Hari-Mander Khalsa; one sister, Betty Jo Sawyer; several nieces and nephews; special neighbors and friends, Freddie and Suetta Canterbury, Steven and Angela Walker, and Nickalus Walker. A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, September 25, 2016 at 2:30PM at Fall Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Don Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30PM prior to the service at the church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mtn. Valley Hospice SECU Hospice Home of Yadkin 320 W.
