Jonesville- Mr. Steve Wilson Bryant, 69, a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away Monday, September 19, 2016. He was born April 15, 1947 in Yadkin County to the late Rufus Junior and Minnie V. Benton Bryant. Mr. Bryant was a graduate of Jonesville High School Class of 1966, graduate of Forsyth Technical College, and worked for several years as a draftsman with Bell Laboratories. He later worked with Food Lion, enjoyed working with his Dad as a Brick Mason, and recently retired from Louisiana Pacific (LP) in 2013, with several years of service. Mr. Bryant was a member of Arlington First Baptist Church, where he served the church faithfully as a Sunday School Superintendent, a Sunday School Teacher, and was elected and served several years as a commissioner on the Town of Arlington Board of Commissioners. He loved reading Steven King novels, never met a stranger, talked with everyone, loved working outside with yardwork, riding his motorcycle, and especially loved spending quality time with his daughter, grandchildren, and all of his family. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Brenda Bryant, Jackie Bryant; brother, Timothy Bryant; special brother-in-law, James Sparks; and his special aunts, Sudie Bryant and Hester Bryant. Surviving are his loving daughter, with whom he held a special bond, Stephanie Nikole Bryant Buelin, and husband, Johnny; grandchildren, Maranda Buelin Allen (Caston Allen) , Amber Buelin (Greg Adams), Ciara Buelin, Kaileigh Buelin; great-grandchild, Crimsyn Allen; sister, Teresa Bryant Couch (Randall); brother, Jeff Dean Bryant, (Melissa) ; his fiancé' , Debbie Barker and her extended family; nieces, Shannon Denise Sparks, Lauren Marie Bryant, Summer Walker; nephews, Brad Sparks, Hunter Allgood; several cousins and friends, including his special cousin that he called his "CuzBro", Barry "Sandi" Bryant; his former wife and special friend, Frieda Belcher; and his beloved canine companion, Niko. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at Gentry Family Funeral Service on Highway 601 North in Yadkinville. His funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday at the Arlington First Baptist Church Rev. Matty Ponce de Leon. He will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service.
