Luther William Renegar

Yadkinville Mr. Luther William Renegar, 84, passed away Sunday, October 02, 2016 at Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Renegar was born June 15, 1932 in Yadkin County to Luther Burette and Linda Myers Renegar. He was the oldest living member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. Mr. Renegar was a retired member of Yadkinville Fire Dept. and Forbush Fire Dept. He enjoyed going to listen to Blue Grass music. In addition to his parents, Mr. Renegar was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Alene Carter Renegar; one brother; one sister; and one step sister. He is survived by four children, Willa R. (Conley) Harvey, Carla R. Pelfrey (Andrew Beck), Lane Renegar (Amy Byrd), and Leroy (Kay) Renegar; eight grandchildren, Stephen Harvey, Michelle Allen, Johnny S. Marion (Shannon Moore), Kelly (Crystal) Marion, Brandon (Whitney) Renegar, Laken (Josh) Beverly, Jamie Renegar, and Kevin Renegar; fifteen great grandchildren; five sisters; two brothers; special friend, Ella Mae Marion; and lifelong friend, Jimmy Bowman. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 11:00am at Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Robert Wiles officiating. Burial will follow at Solid Rock Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road Dobson, NC 27017.
