Ruth Long Brown

Hamptonville Mrs. Ruth Long Brown, 95, passed away Monday, October 24, 2016. Mrs. Brown was born June 19, 1921 in Yadkin County to Nathan and Bessie Gentry Long. She was a member of Longtown Pentecostal Holiness Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Dale F. Brown; a grandson, Mark Brown; and two brothers, Edward and Hugh Long. She is survived by two children, Nolan Brown and Doris Pearson; three grandchildren, Candice Brown, Jay (Stephanie) Pearson, and Katherine Pearson; four great grandchildren, Matthew Pearson, Andrew Pearson, Justin (Maranda) Brown, and Vance (Shelly) Brown; three great-great grandchildren, Charlie, Grace and Piper Brown. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 2:00PM at Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Don Sigmon, Rev. Albert Everidge, and Rev. Tony Goins officiating. Burial will follow at Longtown Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mtn. Valley Hospice SECU Hospice Home of Yadkin 320 W. Maple St. Yadkinville, NC 27055.
