JoAnn Swaim Layell

JoAnn Swaim Layell, 78, passed away October 30, 2016. She was born March 5, 1938 in Yadkin County to the late Clint and Daisy Wagoner Swaim. Mrs. Layell loved to bake and cook for her family and friends. Mrs. Layell had unconditional love for all her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dan Layell, a sister Alma Sue Swaim, two brothers Rocky Swaim and Max Swaim. Surviving are her daughter Debbie (Glenn) Stuart; son Mark Layell; grandchildren Seth (Laura) Caudle, Justin (Jessica) Layell, Kurt Layell, Abby JoAnn Layell; great grandchildren Riley Caudle, Cole Caudle, Josey Layell; sisters Roslyn (Ed) Nettles, Carol (Robert) Axsom. Linda (Johnny) Sizemore; brothers Larry (Judy) Swaim, Benny Swaim; sister-in-law Pat Swaim; special aunt Pearl Misenheimer; best friends Sis and Tommy Swaim. The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm Wednesday November 2, 2016 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville. Her funeral will follow at 3:00 PM in the Gentry Family Chapel in Jonesville by Rev. Bruce Freeman and Brother Ronnie Collins. Burial will follow at North Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thanks to Linda and Johnny Sizemore, Gail Swaim, the staff at Mountain Valley Hospice and New Horizons and also all her special neighbors for the loving care given to Mrs. Layell.
