Paul Thomas Hobson

Yadkinville Mr. Paul Thomas Hobson, 90, passed away Monday, November 07, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Hobson was born July 22, 1926 in Yadkin County to William Vance and Nellie Wooten Hobson. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Hobson enjoyed farming and raising dairy and beef cattle. He also enjoyed singing in family quartets. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hobson was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Caudle Hobson; and four brothers, Charlie Hobson, Clay Hobson, Junior Hobson, and John Henry Hutchens. He is survived by two daughters, Linda Matthews and Phyllis Brown; three grandchildren, Jamie Snider, Larissa (Allen) Brown, and Jeffrey (Amy) Matthews; five great grandchildren, McKenna Snider, Kaitlyn Matthews, Spencer Brown, Brynne Snider, and Silas Brown; and one sister, Laura Pardue. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 3:30PM at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Gooden and Rev. Brent Winslow officiating. He will lie in state from 3:00 to 3:30. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
