Doris Whitaker Hoots

Hoots Yadkinville - Doris Elizabeth Whitaker Hoots, 92, passed away Tuesday November 15, 2016 at Willowbrook Rehabilitation and Care Center in Yadkinville. She was born to Charlie and Zetta Mae White Whitaker on May 2, 1924. She married Isaac Hoots on May 2nd 1942. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers Harold Whitaker; Omer Whitaker; and two sisters Eva Maines and Lorene Whitaker.  She was a member of Center United Methodist Church, member of Ladies Sunday school class and a member of Happy Pilgrims. She was a graduate of Yadkinville High School, class of 41. She worked at Hoots Memorial Hospital for thirty years.  Mrs. Hoots is survived by one son Gerald H. Hoots; one daughter Reba H. Mounce (Lynn); grandchildren Charles Mounce (Lucinda); Daris Mounce (Dianne); Michelle Fitzgerald; Andrew Hoots (Amy); Lynnette Hutchinson (Mark); 13 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; three sisters Icie Dinkins; Gail Edwards (Bob); Charlotte Sizemore (J.P.).  A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday November 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gentry Family Funeral Service Chapel Yadkinville . The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. till 2:00 p.m. at Gentry Family Funeral Service.
