Maurice Howard George

East Bend Mr. Maurice Howard George, 83, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. George was born August 29, 1933 in Samson County to Riley and Ruth Buie George. He was a veteran of the US Army and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Winston Salem. Mr. George was also a member of the Deacon Club at Wake Forest College. He played basketball for Wake Forest College in the last Southern Conference in 1953. Mr. George is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Brooks George; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Lacy and Wilma Brooks; and a brother-in-law, James Brooks. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 11:00AM at Boonville Cemetery with Rev. Mike Horne officiating.
