Evelyn Reavis Brann

East Bend Mrs. Evelyn Reavis Taylor Brann, 88, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Trinity Elms. Mrs. Brann was born May 7, 1928 in Yadkin County to Charles and Hattie Key Reavis. She was a member of Enon Baptist Church. She loved her family, church, and community. Evelyn was a lifelong volunteer who was recognized multiple times for serving others in her church, county, and state. She recruited and motivated others to volunteer and served as a mentor for new volunteers. As a result of her work, in 1993 she was awarded the Governor's Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service. She will be missed by all who knew her and we know she is with her Heavenly Father. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brann was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Earl Taylor and her second husband, Hugh Reid Brann; one son, Kent Taylor; one sister, Edna Dellinger; and four brothers, Thad Reavis, Gray Reavis, Clyde Reavis, and Charles Reavis, Jr. She is survived by three children, Lydia Goodrum, Steve (Wanda) Taylor, and Jeffrey (Diane) Taylor; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Taylor; two step daughters, Brenda (David) Matthews and Vickie (Jeff) Higgins; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; and five sisters-in-law, Marie Reavis, Peggy Reavis, Iva Taylor, Rosemary Miller, and Betty Ann Killian. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00PM, Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Enon Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Elmore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00PM at the church prior to the service.
