East Bend Mr. Donald “Grady” Gough, 74, passed away Tuesday, December 06, 2016 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Gough was born November 14, 1942 in Forsyth County to Hubert and Mildred Bowman Gough. He was a member of Prospect UMC. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gough was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Gough; father-in-law, Gerdie Davis; and one brother, Tommy Gough. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Deborah Davis Gough; a granddaughter, Ashley Harris; a great grandson, Jaxon Harris; two sisters, Deborah (Tom) Jenkins and Brenda Gough; “adopted son”, Brad Bryant; mother-in-law, Katie Davis; sister-in-law, Tanya (Mike) Hamm; a nephew, Tommy Gough; two nieces, Misty Hamm and Melissa (Kevin) Swaim; great nieces and nephews, Michael, Jacob, and Katherine Swaim, Brooklyn Heyman, Hailey Gough, and Danny Walden; special K-9 companion, Gracie; and many other special family and friends. (Any immediate family members not listed above is by their own request) Grady was well known for his love of cars. He owned and operated Grady’s Used Cars and PAV, Inc. for over 50 years. He earned his driving reputation at the East Bend Dragstrip. In high school, he exceled in baseball and basketball. Later he coached and played softball for East Bend Food Land. Throughout the community, Grady was known for his generosity and kindness to those in need. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00AM, Friday, December 9, 2016 at Gentry Family Chapel with Pastor Robin Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will follow at Prospect UMC cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Hugh Chatham Hospital, Natalie Sizemore, Leslie Long, Paige Vaughn, Amy George, and Chelsea Matthews for the loving care given to Mr. Gough throughout this difficult journey.
