Herman Dudley Harris

Harris Harmony – Herman Dudley Harris, 80, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Gordon Hospice House. He was born April 3, 1936 in Iredell County to the late Alfred Dudley Harris and Carrie Bell Johnson Harris.  He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Herbert Lynn Harris.  Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Shirley JoAnn Crews Harris; children, Scott (Deborah) Harris, Angela Harris; grandchildren, Chris Harris, Adam Harris, Crystal Pierce, Heather Pierce, Daniel Harris, Josh Harris, Kevin Waller, Luke Harris; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Olean Deal, Joyce Billings; brother, Albert Harris.  His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2016 at New Hope Baptist Church by the Rev. Bert Mathis and the Rev. Randy Johnson.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church.  Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Harris family.  Online condolences can be made at www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
