Vanhoy Jonesville – Kenneth Vanhoy, 94, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016. He was born November 24, 1922 in Yadkin County to the late Santford and Stella Brown Vanhoy. He retired from years of service working with grading and paving all over the Eastern US. He was a veteran of World War II service with the US Army Air Corps in the South Pacific. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Angie Scott Vanhoy. Surviving are his sisters, Polly Cowan, Blanche Bovender; and several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Gentry Family Chapel by the Rev. John Brown. Burial will follow at Boonville Cemetery with full military honors by the Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and the N.C. National Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Boonville Cemetery, PO Box 166, Boonville, NC 27011, or to Pruitt Hospice, 902 West D Street, N.C. 28659.
