Annie Mathis Johnson

Johnson Hamptonville - Annie B Mathis Johnson, 84, passed away Monday December 26, 2016 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Mrs. Johnson was born May 29, 1932 to Robert Gordon Mathis and Bertha Glass Mathis. She was a charter member of West Yadkin Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband Coy Lee Johnson; daughters Sue Carol Lynch and Mary Bright Driggers; 13 brothers and sisters. She is survived by 4 daughters Christy Johnson (Amy), Bridget Whitaker (Dennis), Donna Oliver (John), and Betsy Middleton (Bob); grandchildren Eli, Keara, Tanner, Daniel, Susan, Larkin, Rob, Brad, Betsy Lea, Cheryl, Tree, LeAnne, and John (Jay); 16 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister America Himes; sister-in-law’s Barbara Mathis and Nancy Mathis Love.  Mrs. Johnson’s funeral service will be conducted Saturday December 31, 2016 at West Yadkin Baptist Church at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Richard Odom.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.   The family will receive friends following the service at the church.  The family would like to extend their appreciation to Yadkin Nursing Care Center.
