Paul "Tom" Driver

Yadkinville Mr. Paul Thomas “Tom” Driver, 68, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. Tom was born May 20, 1948 in Forsyth County to Thomas Franklin and Paulette Jones Driver. He served in the US Navy on the USS Lafayette during the Vietnam Era. Tom was a member of Maple Springs UMC. He was a truly gifted artist. There was no medium he could not work with. Tom especially enjoyed sharing his skills with children. His most special student was Chelsea Norman. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Driver. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Sybil Roberts Driver; a daughter, Brandi Brown; a sister, Georgia Ann (Kent) Snow; and a nephew, Kory (Jennifer) Bennett. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00PM, Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Patty Choplin officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Maple Springs UMC, PO Box 187 Ronda, NC 28670.
