Janie Hutchens Driver

Boonville Mrs. Rosa “Janie” Hutchens Driver, 88, passed away Monday, January 2, 2017 at her home. Mrs. Driver was born September 4, 1928 in Yadkin County to James “Jim” Hutchens and Mettie Mathis Hutchens. She was a member of Boonville Baptist Church and retired from Astoria Braid with over 30 years of service. On June 27, 1943, Janie married the love of her life, Sidney Edward Driver. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Driver was preceded in death by three children, Patty Driver, Ronnie Driver, and Brenda Driver; two grandchildren, Ricky Walker and Donna Sue Mathis; a sister, Treva Brown; and four brothers, Marshall Hutchens, Bud Hutchens, Gene Hutchens, and Odell McCollum. She is survived by three children, Gray (Betty) Driver, Edie (Jack) Sprinkle, and Billy Driver; twelve grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; fourteen great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Patsy (Jimmy) Church and Faye Whitaker; and one brother, Henry (Deborah) Hutchens. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00PM, Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Boonville Baptist Church Family Life Center with Rev. John Brown and Rev. Randy Parrish officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be held in Boonville Cemetery following the visitation.
