Violet Angeline Jereb

Jonesville Mrs. Violet Angeline Zalar Jereb, 92, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Hugh Chatham Nursing and Rehab Center. Mrs. Jereb was born August 7, 1924 in Pierce, WV to Andrew and Anna Brooks Zalar. She married Edward Vincent Jereb on August 10, 1945 and together they owned Hinsdale Hotel in Hinsdale, NY. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Jereb was preceded in death by two children, Deborah Jereb and Vincent “Wink” Jereb; a sister, Anna Zalar; and a brother, Ludwig Zalar. She is survived by one son, Michael (Annette) Jereb; three grandchildren, Shelley (Danny) Collins, Michael Jereb, Jr., and Julie (Chad) Grady; five great grandchildren, Shavonne Stahl, Zachary Jereb, Brooke Jereb, Alexis Jereb, and Brice Richardson; and one great-great grandchild, Adeline Medlin. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date in New York. Memorials may be made to Mtn. Valley Hospice SECU Hospice Home of Yadkin 320 W. Maple St. Yadkinville, NC 27055.
