Edith Reece Hudson

Yadkinville Mrs. Edith Reece Hudson, 92, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mrs. Hudson was born September 28, 1924 in Yadkin County to James and Maggie Scott Reece. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Hudson enjoyed gardening and caring for children. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by her husband, James William Hudson, Jr.; infant son, Gary Hudson; two sisters, Ann Wood and Ruth Adams; and three brothers, Jack, Bob, and Clyde Reece. She is survived by three daughters, Judy (Sam) McGee, Lynne (Rusty) Hoskins, and Gina Adams; six grandchildren, Emily (Anthony) Pereira, Julie (Jason) Barker, Andrew McGee, Alice Hoskins, Matthew (April) Adams, and Luke Adams; and two great grandchildren, Cole and Hadley Pereira. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00PM Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Gooden officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2401 Nebo Rd Yadkinville, North Carolina 27055.
