James "Harold" Lashmit

Advance Mr. James “Harold” Lashmit, 76, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017 at VA Medical Center in Salisbury. Mr. Lashmit was born January 23, 1941 in Yadkin County to Henry and Thelma Sain Lashmit. He was a veteran of the US Army. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lashmit was preceded in death by his wife, Jereleen Turner Lashmit; five brothers, Allen Wayne, William, John, Thomas, and R.L. Lashmit; and five sisters, Roberta Hendrix, Shirley Gray, Francis Allen, Louise Groce, and Ruth Baity. He is survived by four sisters, Ella (Don) Laymon, Dottie (James) Shore, Jean (Thurmond) Phillips, and Alice Pickett; and a special friend, Megan Close. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Dennis Shaw officiating. Full military honors will be provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Burial will follow on Monday at 10:00AM at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons, NC.
