Mary Ella Atwell Adkins

Mary Ella Atwell Adkins, 68, passed away Thursday February 23, 2017. She was born August 17, 1948 to the late James Harmon Atwell and Clara Owens Atwell. She was a member of Welcome Inn Church in Statesville, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jimmy William Adkins, Sr.; son Mark Adkins; grandson William Adkins; sister Shirley Roberts; a brother James Atwell. Surviving are her son Jimmy (Deborah) Adkins; grandchildren Destiny Adkins, Courtney Adkins, RaeElla Adkins, Samuel Adkins, Bryson Adkins; sisters Virginia Bishop, Ollie Tabor; brother Johnny (Hazel) Atwell. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Sunday February 26, 2017 at Welcome Inn Church in Statesville, NC. Her funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday February 27, 2017 at Beulahland Church by Rev. Bruce Byrd, Rev. Ray Kiser, and Rev. Ralph Casstevens. She will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Beulahland church cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thanks to her friend Robin (John) Talent, the staff of Gordon Hospice Home for the loving care given to Mrs. Adkins.
