Ernest Lewis Greene

Ernest Lewis Greene, 87, passed away Thursday March 2, 2017. He was born May 6, 1929 in Watauga County to the late Roosevelt and Lizzie Bryant Greene. Mr. Greene loved gardening and working on small engines. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Gladys Ruth Miller Greene; Son Allen Greene; daughter Deborah Couch; special K9 friend Susie. Surviving are two daughters Rita (Danny) Shore, Anita Hauser; grandchildren Steven (Sandy) Couch, Michael (Sarah) Hauser, Derek Shore, Jason (Samantha) Shore; great grandchildren Samantha Couch, Avery Couch, Thad Shore, Henry Shore; two step great grandchildren Donnie and Amber; brother Phillip (Linda) Greene. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday March 5, 2017 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Zionville, NC by Rev. Stephen Evans. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for the loving care given to Mr. Greene.
