Cook Elkin – Pearl Marie Hodge Cook, 88, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born May 30, 1928 in Surry County to the late William David Hodge and Ollie Marie Johnson Hodge. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray Columbus Cook; son, Ralph Cook; sister, Tilda Ruggeria; brothers, Calvin Hodge, Warren Hodge; several half-brothers and half-sisters. Surviving are her children, J.D. (Judy) Cook, Linda (Johnny) Brown, Pansy (Patric) Hamilton; grandchildren, Shannon (Brian) Hopkins, James (Tara) Cook, William (Tiffany) Coleman, Lisa (Jimmy) Hamby, Chris (Jennifer) Shore, Allison (Jabar) Dodson, Erica Hamilton, Laura (Dave) Newey, Ryan (Cherie) Hamilton, Carrie Hamilton; seventeen great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Beth Coleman. Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Swan Creek Baptist Church by Dr. William Coleman and the Rev. Randy Johnson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2017 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville, which is serving the Cook family.
