Roby Elbert Swaim

Jonesville Mr. Roby Elbert Swaim, 90, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Woltz Hospice Home.  Mr. Swaim was born August 13, 1926 to Charlie and Grace Wagoner Swaim.  He was a member of Swaims Baptist Church and was a veteran of the US Army.  Mr. Swaim enjoyed farming and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Swaim was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret Ireland Swaim; one sister, Doris Parsons; and six brothers, Tommy, Glenn, Paul, Turner, Lester, and Henry Swaim.  He is survived by two children, Charles Elbert (Gail) Swaim and Donna Swaim (Von) Groce; three grandchildren, Michael (Jana) Swaim, Len Swaim, and Crystal (Mikey) Mullis; four great grandchildren, Emma and Mia Swaim, and Kaleigh and Addalyn Mullis; and one sister, Grace Kivette. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00PM, Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Gentry Funeral Service Chapel in Jonesville with Rev. Roger Groce officiating.  Burial will follow at Swaims Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road Dobson, NC 27017. The family wishes to thank the staff of Woltz Hospice Home and Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital for the loving care given to Mr. Swaim. Gentry Family Funeral Service is serving the Swaim family.v
