Gregory Kim Spillman

East Bend Mr. Gregory Kim Spillman, 59, passed away Friday, March 3, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Mr. Spillman was born April 6, 1957 in Yadkin County to William and Mary Ruth Lineberry Spillman. He was a member of East Bend Friends Meeting, worked as a brick mason for 20 years, and taught school at Starmount for 22 years. Mr. Spillman was adored by his students and was proud to be a Ram…GATA. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Spillman was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis and Rod Spillman. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Sylvia Matthews Spillman; a son, William Jared Spillman (Amanda Renegar Jester); seven grandchildren, Dylan, Zachary, Erin, and Brennen Spillman, Connor, Emma, and Ryan Jester; two sisters, Wanda (Larry) Johnson and Mary Jane Spillman (Bobby Stephens); and one brother, Dana (Kathy) Spillman. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00PM, Monday, March 6, 2017 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville with Rev. Eddie Tyson and David Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at East Bend Friends Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Starmount Carpentry Program, 2516 Longtown Rd, Boonville, NC 27011. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to special friends, Michael and Teresa Howell and to a special caregiver, Amanda for the loving care given to Mr. Spillman.
