Imogene Hobson Groce

Imogene Hobson Groce, 94, passed away Wednesday March 15, 2017. She was born December 11, 1922 in Yadkin County to the late Harvey and Hester Mickles Hobson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Wayne Groce; a daughter Peggy Brown. Surviving are her children Wilma (R L) Eads, Doris (Al) Burnett, Johnny W (Sissy) Groce; grandchildren Angela (Mark) Adams, Dr. Tim Brown, Greg (Gina) Brown, Heather (Craig) Royal, Bradley (Natasha) Brown, Kelly (David) Holland, Wesley Groce, Michael Groce, Chris (Kelly) Martin, Nick (Amy) Martin, Jay (Amanda) Martin; fifteen great grandchildren; sisters Stacy Smitherman, Helen Atkinson, Carol Powell; brother Archie Hobson; son in law Roy Brown. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Saturday March 18, 2017 at Union Cross Friends Church. Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 PM following the visitation at Union Cross Friends Church by Dr. Robin Dixon, Rev. Mark Adams, Pastor Rick Carney. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff of Yadkin Nursing Center for the loving care given to Mrs. Groce.
