SwaimJonesville- Rev. Stephen Watson Swaim, 76, of Stadium Drive passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at his home peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 14, 1940 in Surry County to the late Thad and Annie Royal Swaim. Rev. Swaim was the pastor of Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church in Jonesville for 36 years, and was owner and operator of Swaims Body Shop in Jonesville. He loved visiting the mountains with his family, and lived a life of service to others. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Edith Swaim. Surviving are his beloved wife of 58 years, Greta Vestal Swaim, of the home; his 3 sons, Randy Swaim, Stevie Swaim and wife, Vanessa, and David Swaim all of Jonesville; his grandchildren, Adam Swaim, Josh Swaim, Katelyn Swaim, Victoria White; Sisters, Shirley Shores, Peggy Mathis; brother, Ken Swaim; and several nieces and nephews, including his special nieces, Sandra Shumate, Kim Haynes, and Pam Dudley. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:00 PM Sunday March 19, 2017 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville. His funeral service will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM Sunday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Tommy Conley, Rev. K.M. Vestal, and Rev. Ed White.
