Walter Ray Sizemore,85, of Winston-Salem, passed away Monday, March 20, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Yadkin County on February 3, 1932 to Walter Montgomery and Lona Brown Sizemore. He was a member of Trinity Community Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired after 35 plus years from Hanes Corp-Sara Lee. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and G-Pa. Mr. Sizemore enjoyed boating, Nascar, and his family. Mr. Sizemore accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior as a young boy. He was devoted and dedicated to his church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Erlene Stanley Sizemore, all eight of his siblings, and a great-granddaughter Alyssa Thompson. Surviving are his wife Jerrie Beamon Sizemore of the home, children, Teresa (Ned) Beasley of Rural Hall, Rod (Tammy) Sizemore of King, Keith (Lori) Rothrock of Winston-Salem, Donna (John) Foster of Florida, grandchildren, Jennifer (Dave) Thompson, Scott Beasley, Natalie (Drew) Weatherford, Taylor Sizemore, Mark Sizemore, Justin (Kayla) Rothrock, Cody Rothrock, Taylor Foster, Joseph Niciti, and Santo Niciti, 9 great-grandchildren, and his special K-9 companion Precious. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Trinity Community Church, 819 Williams Road, Lewisville, NC with Pastor Hobert Freeman, and Dr. Robin Dixon officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 12:30 to lie instate. Burial will follow at Deep Creek Friends Cemetery with Full Military Honors by the NC National Guard, VFW Post 2019, and VFW Post 9436.
