Zeno H. Welborn

Hamptonville Mr. Zeno H. Welborn, 88, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mr. Welborn was born February 9, 1929 in Yadkin County to George and Bettie Phillips Welborn. He was a member of Union Baptist Church and lived his life in faith honoring God through his love for others and his amazing positive attitude. Even through many years of health problems, he was a fighter. His devotion to his family was a primary focus in his life. . Mr. Welborn enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and being outdoors. He used his gift of singing as a young man to sing in the West Yadkin Quartet and later in church and community choirs. Employed by the original Wilson Pest Control in Winston Salem for over 39 years, Mr. Welborn helped to expand the business in Eden and surrounding areas. In addition to his parents, Mr. Welborn was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sue Howard Welborn; and two brothers, Coy and Hugh Welborn. He is survived by his daughter, Debbie (Ben) Hopper; grandson, Rev. Brad (Jennie) Hopper; two great grandchildren, Aidan and Grace Hopper; one brother, George Welborn; three sisters-in-law, Marie Welborn, Betty Calloway, and Joan Connor; and many nieces and nephews who treasured him.   A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00AM, Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville with Rev. Brad Hopper and Rev. Kenny Pardue officiating. Burial will follow at Union Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The family would like to offer heartfelt gratitude to the staff and friends at the Yadkinville Dialysis Center for their care of and friendship to Zeno. He loved you all. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016 or to Union Baptist Church Building Fund, 919 Union Church Rd Hamptonville, NC 27020.
