Joy Dale Ashley Murphy

Joy Dale Ashley Murphy, 69, passed away Wednesday March 29, 2017. She was born June 1, 1947 in Surry County to the late Harvey Lee and Ruth Mae King Ashley. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Billy Gray Murphy; two sisters Rosa Lee Ashley, Grace Dean Ashley; daughter in law Jennifer Murphy. Surviving are her children David Lee Gregory, Carolyn Murphy (David) Pearson, Donald Gray Murphy; grandchildren D J Pearson, Joshua Pearson, Hannah Pearson, D J murphy, Keely Murphy, Matthew Murphy; sisters Joanne (Johnny) Giles, Gail Vestal, Hilda (Jimmy) Collins, Tammie (Mike) Cranford. The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Sunday April 2, 2017at Victory Chapel Baptist Church. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 PM following the visitation in the Victory Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Joey Burton.
