Mary "Jane" Davis

Winston Salem Ms. Mary “Jane” Davis, 57, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 at her home. Ms. Davis was born November 21, 1959 in Yadkin County to Hobert and Mary Reynolds Davis. Jane graduated from High Point University with a Bachelor’s Degree. Amongst her other accomplishments, she earned a NC Auctioneers license in 2011. After obtaining her CDL, she traveled through most every state as an over-the-road truck driver. Her handle was “Catbird”.   Friends will sadly miss her adventurous trucking stories. Most recently, Jane was employed at BE Aerospace where she valued the friendships she made there. Proving it is never too late in life, Jane learned to swim and became a Girl Scout at 57 years old during her cancer journey. In addition to her father, Jane was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marshall and Nellie Reynolds and Frank and Flora Davis. She is survived by her mother, Mary Davis of Yadkinville. Jane leaves behind her life partner, Katherine Houle; and her beloved dog, “Buttercup Puppy dog Davis”. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Gentry Family Chapel with Pastor Scott Welch, Pastor Joel Vestal, and Pastor Erick Goff officiating. Burial will follow at Yadkin Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home. The family requests no flowers be sent but memorials be made to Peaks to Piedmont Girl Scout Service Unit 141/143, c/o Phyllis, 1000 Greenly Drive Pfafftown, NC 27040 or to Kate B.
