Linda Smith Perkins

Perkins Yadkinville – Linda Smith Perkins, 77, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017. She was born January 13, 1940 in Bertie County to the late Robert Darnell Smith and Mary Creasey Smith.  Linda was a member at Yadkinville United Methodist Church.  She worked for Dr. Frank Walker Dentistry in Yadkinville as a dental assistant until the birth of her first child, and thereafter devoted her life to her family.  Surviving are her husband, Tommy Lee Perkins; children, Jamie Leigh (David) McCollum, Lee Darnell Perkins; grandchildren, Brittany McCollum, Kenton McCollum; sister, Roberta (Merie) Lewis; brother, Robert “Bobby’ (Sue) Smith, Jr.  Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Gentry Family Chapel by the Rev. Marcus Portis and the Rev. Jimmy Lancaster.  Burial will follow at Union Grove Baptist Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.  Memorials can be made to American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA  22202 or to the Donor’s choice.  The family would like to thank the Yadkin County Rescue Squad for their care of Linda.  Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Perkins family.
