Adrian Johnson, known as “A” or “AA”, age 74, passed away January 19, 2022. He was born January 28, 1947 in Iredell County to the late Lee and Lois Anthony Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Avery Johnson. He is survived by his high school sweetheart, his loving wife of 55 ½ years, Marlene Wilkins Johnson, and several nieces, and nephews. “AA” fully lived his almost 75 years of life. He enjoyed waterskiing with friends, riding motorcycles, wagon training with mules and horses, and had a love for dogs. He loved trout fishing with his best friend and loving wife. He loved camping and meeting other campers, and making friends. Thank you for all the special camping, friends. He loved gospel and bluegrass music, and you will never meet a better nine and a half finger bass player. He also enjoyed bluegrass jamming at Bojangles in Yadkinville. Adrian was a teacher, and kind hearted man, he always had a smile, and a twinkle of joy in his eyes, plus a contagious laugh. He was patient, and openly shared his knowledge with friends and neighbors. Adrian made so many friends over the years from attending wagon trains, blue grass festivals, and fiddlers’ conventions.
