Aggie Speer Smitherman

East Bend – Aggie Mae Speer Smitherman, 94, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021. She was born Jan 15, 1927 in Yadkin County to the late Thomas Walter Speer and Minerva Mickles Speer. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Marvin Smitherman; daughter, Teresa Smitherman; brother, Bud Speer; sisters, Lucille Hunt, Nelda Adams, and two infants. Surviving are her brothers, Leroy (Pansy) Speer, Denny (Sharon) Speer, Merle (Judy) Speer; several nieces and nephews with one special niece, Traci Harding; sister-in-law, Betty (Ed) Collins. Her graveside service will be held at 11AM Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Stony Knoll United Methodist Church by the Rev. David Blankenberg. The family will receive friends prior to the graveside inside the church from 10:00 to 11:00AM Saturday.
