Harmony “AJ” Arch James Salmon, 77, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018. He was born September 16, 1940 in Iredell County to the late Arch Joseph Salmon and Alva Shaw Salmon. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Carol Hollar Salmon; two children Craig (Crystal) Salmon, Annette (Jesse) Stroud; grandchildren Adam Stroud, Leah (Adam) Anderson, Amber (Matthew) Lambert; four great grandsons and one great granddaughter; sister Margaret (Bobby) Knight. “AJ” engraved monuments for over 50 years, he was the manager of the 1984 USSSA World Championship Softball team, he enjoyed watching the New York Yankees and as long as his health permitted he was an avid coon, rabbit, and bird hunter. He was a faithful member of Rock Spring Baptist Church. The family would like to thank Dr. Carla Pence and the staff of Iredell Memorial Hospital and the staff of Gordon Hospice House for the excellent care given to “AJ”. His funeral service will be conducted Friday, February 16, 2018, 2:00 pm at Rock Spring Baptist Church in Harmony, with the Rev. Jeff Folk and Dr. Jesse Stroud officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Rock Spring Baptist Church.
