Edith Aladene Stinson Norman passed in the morning hours on Sunday August 21, 2022 at the home of her son and ending her earthly battle with dementia. She was born in Yadkin County to the late Gillus Varner Stinson Sr., and Bessie Combs Stinson. Mrs. Norman was retired from the Postal Service with over 30 years of service. She loved gardening and preparing food for family and friends. In her retirement she enjoyed quilting with the ladies of her church and volunteering with various organizations. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Bobby Gray Norman. Surviving are her sons, Gregory Gray Norman (Dawn), Lorne (LV) Van Norman (Kevin Kiely), granddaughter Chelsea Lake Norman (Brian), one brother Gillus Varner Stinson, Jr. (Sarah), many cousins, nephews, and nieces. Many thanks to Tammy T. for her compassionate care with Mom through these last few months as well as Mountain Valley Hospice and all the wonderful people who assisted with her final months. Mom loved her flowers and flowers will be accepted as well as making any donation in her honor to Mountain Valley Hospice or Share a Home of Yadkin County. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM Thursday August 25, 2022 at Charity Baptist Church. Going Home Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 AM Thursday August 25, 2022 at Charity Baptist Church buy the Rev. Marty Nixon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Norman family.
