Alan Ralph Hutchens

Yadkinville Mr. Alan Ralph Hutchens, 71, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Hutchens was born August 17, 1947 in Forsyth County to Ralph and Annie Pearl Choplin Hutchens. His enjoyment came from spending time with his family, (“Ellie Pop”, "Booty", Alana & Chris) Sunday dinners, baseball, dance, and fishing. Everyone knows that most of all, he enjoyed spending time with Alana. In addition to his father, Mr. Hutchens was preceded in death by his wife, Marsha Smith Hutchens. He is survived by his mother; a daughter, Alana (Chris) Miller; two grandchildren, Elle & Chris “Booty” Miller; a sister, Amelia Hutchens; and a K-9 companion, Mochie. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00PM, Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A memorial service will follow at 12:00PM in Gentry Family Chapel. Burial will be at Yadkinville Cemetery immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Yadkin County Humane Society, PO Box 1652 Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of WFBMC ICU Cancer Center 6th, 7th, 8th floors for the loving care given to Mr. Hutchens during his illness.
