Albert Sanford Marsh

Mr. Albert Sanford Marsh, 79, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Chatham Nursing Center. Mr. Marsh was born April 15, 1938 in Surry County to Joby and Nettie Hall Marsh. He loved bluegrass music and attended the fiddler’s conventions. In addition to his parents, Mr. Marsh was preceded in death by his wife, Joann Barker Marsh; two sisters, Lois and Dorothy Marsh; and one brother, Jack Marsh. He is survived by three children, Nancy (Raymond) Wood, Cynthia Martin, and Donna Marsh; two step daughters, Martha (Allen) Edwards and Marlene (Kevin) Simpson; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Caudle and Marie Anders; and one brother, Raymond (Helen) Marsh. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 28, 2017 at Gentry Family Chapel in Jonesville with Rev. Tony White officiating. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
