Alfred "Allen" Evans

Mr. Alfred “Allen” Evans, 85, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022.

He was born in Yadkin County on December 27, 1936 to Hubert and Ila Evans.

Allen retired from General Motors in Michigan after 30 years of service. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. He loved working in the yard and going to McDonald’s every day. Allen was an avid motorcycle rider and he enjoyed auto racing and Nascar in his younger years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Allen dearly loved his family. He will be missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Edward Evans, Gerald Evans, Bob Evans, and Wilber Evans; and sister, Frankie Evans Blackburn.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Connie Evans; daughters, Karla (Don) Lewis and Michelle (Robert) Burns; grandchildren, Heather (Kyle) Orlowski, Khrystal (Cole) Lewis, Hayleigh Lewis, Michael Felts, David Felts, Robert Burns, and William Burns; great-grandchildren, Parker and Olivia Orlowski; sister, Katie (Homer) Shockley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 19, 2022 at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Benfield officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

The family would like to say a special thank you to their Shady Grove church family for the prayers and love shown to Mr. Evans and his family.
