Alvis Herman Carter

Alvis Herman Carter, 87, passed away December 14, 2019. He was born, August 6, 1932 in Yadkin County to the late Willie F. Carter and Eva Williams Carter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Williams Carter; son Jerry Carter; 1 sister and 4 brothers. Mr. Carter was a member of Mt. Carmel Friends Church. He enjoyed fishing at the coast. Mr. Carter is survived by his daughters Wanda C. Burchette (Joe), Sharon C. Hutchins (Jr.); daughter-in-law Vickie Carter; grandchildren Michael Davis (Wendi), Joann Burchette, Lee Burchette (Lindsey); great-grandchild Raelyn Burchette. The family will receive friends at Mt. Carmel Friends Church, Tuesday, December 17, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. His funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM following the visitation with Rev. Jeff Farmer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mt. Carmel Friends Church Building Fund, 3417 Mt. Carmel Church Road, East Bend, NC, 27018. The family would like to thank the staff of Willowbrook Rehabilitation and Care Center for the loving care given to Mr. Carter.
