Yadkinville-  Mrs. Anna May Ellis Porter, 61, of Adams Street passed away peacefully Friday, December 22, 2017 at her home. She was born March 3, 1956 in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Acie Robert and Carrie Ellis.  Mrs. Porter worked as a C.N.A. for 30 years and was a member of Northwood Baptist Church.  She was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker for her family.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially loved each of her grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Alexander Posey, and by her sister, Wilma, and a brother, Robert.  Surviving are her beloved husband of 36 years, Michael Porter, of the home; her sons, Rudy (Marcia) Posey, Steven (Sara) Porter, all of Yadkinville; grandchildren, Alex, Ashley, and Abigail Posey; sisters, Vonita Edens, Dorothy Cooper; brother, Marvin Ellis; and several nieces and nephews.  The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.  Her Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Friday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Dr. Hubert Wishon.  Burial will follow in the Northwood Baptist Church Cemetery.  Online condolences may be made to www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
